Young and Worry-Freeby slimComment: That's a rather disturbing statue. It looks like it is urinating. Weird. The statue is quite dark and lacking detail (if there were more detail I would probably see a definitive source of the water which would make this look less odd). The exposure seems a bit blurry or perhaps it is just noise. Some adjustments to the tone of the black and white are in order. This is just bland. |

Alone and free to stand tallby keriboiComment: This isn't a particularly inspirational tree. It looks rather scrubby, especially in comparison to the trees in the background. This isn't a great composition. It would be more effective if somehow the tree was actually isolated as the only one object in the shot. |

Visionaryby ZoomdakComment: I don't get how freedom is represented by a close-up of an eye.
Photographically,it is okay, althugh I've seen a lot of eye close-ups on DPC in the past three months. It is interesting that the background echose the color of the eye. |

Free Wheelingby admart01Comment: This is kind of dull subject matter. The surroundings are nice but not particulalry inspirational. The scene is a bit contrasty. |

Everything has a cost.....Even Freedom!by dixonp1Comment: This would make more sense if the headstone showed a soldier who died in a war. I'm not saying thi man did not make sacrifices but the title and photograph imply the cost of freedom is sometimes death and this man obviously lived quite a long time after serving in those wars.
Photographically, it is a nice documentary photo of the cemetary. |

cigarettes advertismentby akyrosComment: This doesn't really say 'advertisement' to me unless it is an anti-smoking public service announcement. Since your heading suggests otherwise, I have to evaluate it as an actual ad for cigarettes. It doesn't work as an ad because the guy is squinty and unappealing. He doesn't appear to be enjoying himself. In other words, he does not make smoking look appealing.
Photographically, it is a kind of random looking snap shot with nothing of real interest to absorb the viewer. The background is messy and distracting. The focus isn't too sharp. It is very high contrast.

Too Hot to Candle!by BearSilberComment: I don't really see the advertisment quality. For one thing, I don't know what is being advertised. Generic candles?
The partial text on the middle candle confuses things further. This is rather dull subject matter. The somewhat diagonal line created by the row of candles leads the eye to nowhere but the blown out white background. |

New Watermelon Flavorby CamComment: Nice idea. It is quite a bit overexposed. I suggest next time you need to shoot something outdoors like this, you bring along something to diffuse the light a bit (a white umbrella, a sheer white curtain, something along those lines). The cropping is a bit tight at the bottom. There should be a little space in front of the product. Also, the bottle is tilted quite a bit. Nice effort. |
