I too have been trying to get a feel for portraits and lighting. I have looked at this set of photos and the kids look like they had a blast.I wish my kids would do the same. All the other shots had good lighting . I am a big fan of making sure the eyes are lit up properly.In this shot however she might have moved on you but her position has caused her eyes to be out of the light. They are too dark for me. Other than that good work!

I really like this shot!! The mist has made this seem washed out. If you try playing with a layer of curves in the green channel to make that mountain side standout more then mask off the sky.It would make a difference. Check out YOU TUBE.COM AND SEARCH PHOTOSHOP there are many tutorials that will help you out. Keep working on shooting. It sounds like(from your bio) you have some drive so keep it up.

I really like this. The sky is cool in this one. The only suggestion I have is that if you can try and avoid pointing your camera upwards so as not to get the distortion in the bridge and buildings.They look like they are leaning.Try and get a higher vantage point or raise your tripod and level out your camera. I have to remember to do that myself.Other than that nice capture!
