Per the forum thread: It doesn't appear that you really need a DSLR with a big zoom. This photo is very good. Looks clear and sharp, good color. I like the blue background in relation to the color of the fur. Was it very cropped then?

Beautiful photo, I don't get it though. A know a Periwinkle is a type of snail and looked it up in the dictionary and also found it a type of bush. Is there a fairytale character named Periwinkle?

An elusive Troll setting up camp

Very cool concept. Others seem to be knocking the use of dolls and figurines but this works. Would be a little better if the environment was darker, more of a night feeling. Perhaps depress the troll into the ground a little more so you don't see the solid part under the toes. Is that a candle or LED? Perhaps starting a small fire with some of the dead leaves would have given it some more realism. Another thought, perhaps some smoke in the background to simulate fog. I think it would add atmosphere.
