The Bridge Framed Me, I Swear!by TechnoShroomComment: w24x192 - Nope, selective desaturation is allowed.
edwalk74 - Thanks for taking "stupid" out of your comment. I agree, in part, about the title. It amused me though so I left it as is.
just-married - The desaturation isolates the foreground frame (what is supposed to be the main subject in this challenge) from the background, bringing more attention to it.
Joey Lawrence - I did follow the rules, dude.
PhilipDyer - This was shot with a Sigma 100-300 f4 EX IF APO HSM. It's cropped but a little ways off from 100%. Would have liked to use a larger lens but I don't have one. There was no way to desaturate the vertical cables and stay within basic editing.
nikabika7 - In PS use the Hue/Saturation command and slide the saturation for every color except the reds to -100. |

Please.....by pearcerComment: I think this would have been much more effective with a dutch lighting type setup where the light falls in a narrow band across the eyes. |

Lion Aroundby faidoiComment: Per the forum thread: It doesn't appear that you really need a DSLR with a big zoom. This photo is very good. Looks clear and sharp, good color. I like the blue background in relation to the color of the fur. Was it very cropped then? |
