Bird of a Featherby dan_pendletonComment: Excellent close-up, great definition, detailing, colour. Long lens or patience? I actually think it's too close to do very well here - the real grace in the animal is lost when you get so close, and they start to look more like the bruisers that they are - and ugly don't do so good on dpc. Top woork though. |

Sand Dollar in the Sandby ZoomdakComment: There's a suggestion of evening about this - the warm and cool light from either side, and also in the tones of the sand. A sort of mourbful image, i think. Probably not eye-catching enough for dpc, but nice work, and thanks for sharing it. |

Soft, Yet Toughby TommyMoe21Comment: Great capture of the detail of the boot, great impression of texture. Nothin to propel my vote beyond a 6 though - just lacks that spark of inspiration somehow. Strong compositionally though - real graphic elements, and effective. |

Wipe It Onby monxiComment: Poor. Almost no detail, and although the light appears to have been good for this challenge shot, the small image size and that lack of detail barely let it show. |

Canopiesby ImagineerComment: Good detailing. bright and vibrant colours, not a bad moment of light to use, though perhaps touch too direct, something softer would perhaps have lessened the brightnedd of those lit areas without losing the texture. compositionally bland though - there's no process within frame of movement or anything to lead the eye. |

"FAULT!"by soccerdadComment: Processing problems, I'd suggest - sharpening after adding the border? Fine detail is lacking, and the composition is rough and ready at best. Colours are bland - lacking vibrancy. A poor go, I'm afraid. |

Paint Peelingby GoboltsComment: Haven't seen as many shots of this subject as I would expect. Reasonable version, this: really concentrates on the texture, which is good, especially in the un-peeled areas. |

Skin Deep by moodvilleComment: Great shot - man is that one ugly sucker though. Real presence of texture, excellent work. |

Dusterby bledfordComment: neat star-burst kind of effect. Intersting colouring, and the fraying of the ends of the hairs (?) is well demonstrated. Good feel to it too - Doesn't quite hold my interest for long though. |

Surface Textureby BukiosComment: Very neat, well organised, good shooting. Excellent display of texture. Would perhaps like to see less stuff reflected in those drops - can I see arms holding diffusers there?Like the fade to white through the pic. |
