Wow Julie, the voters must hate millet. This one don't have that face grabbing contrast, vivid colors, and tight cropped single subject content that gets the big DPC votes though. As a birder, I can see what you liked about this photo, and I like it too.

I was there the year before this one. You were in the right position and ready when this happened. That's what I would call a "high pucker factor moment" for sure.
Ballooning is totally backward from flying in an airplane. You take off with the machine on fire, not knowing exactly where you are going or when you will be getting there, and usually land where there is no airport.

Low key is good to set the mood in this one. I tend to do sunsets a lot brighter, but the near darkness seems natural in this shot.

All the little details make this pretty interesting to see. I couldn't get near that sink as clumsy as I am. I would be afraid I would bump into something and half of the whatnots would go crashing around. I like the outside view too. Does that banana tree bear fruit?
