The little group of trees add the scale that helps this one for me. That's a pretty dramatic sky too. I guess that you were fortunate to have a morning with a storm passing offshore for this one.

Check to see that your camera is not set to max sharpening. It may be sharpening some in camera, and again when you process, and causing the problem along the tree line at the top. Whatever you did to this one makes the bark on the main subject tree look good. It's a very contrasty scene, with the white clouds and dark foreground to deal with.
