This is one of the most patriotic memorials to me. Good angle and lens choice for the image. There are some heroic, and sad stories associated with the guys who were actually involved when the famous photo was made.

That's about crazy! Cool, but crazy. It makes a great subject for an image, and I like the wet reflection on the ground.

That stone work is just something that is not available in this area of the country. It makes really good looking buildings. The sky is just perfect in this image. Did you add the tilt on purpose, or did you just run out of "wide" and need just a pinch more? Either way, it looks better than good.

No guts, no glory! Nice shot on a beautiful clear, but cold looking day. The low angle shows the ice, and helps with the overall shapes of things.

Day 17 - Underside of some Monument

To get this kind of shot in camera, I try to do the shooting late in the evening, or right after sunset and use a tripod. I know it isn't always convenient, but it works pretty well for me.
I like that you exposed to get the light on the tops of the arches right.
That must be a darn big horse if it takes all this to hold it up LOL : )
