Two bays, no waitingby jackal9Comment: Very nice little piece of history. Garage bays like this used to be at every service station when I was a kid, but are now getting very rare, and even more rare to see one open for business.
The image fits the challenge very well. The windows on the back wall are a little off center, and could have been centered by a slight move to the left with the camera, but there may have been something blocking that move. I like color better most of the time, but this looks great in B&W. There is an odd illusion that the image is wider at the top than the bottom. You may have had the camera angled just a bit up, which causes that because of the barrel distortion of most wide angle lenses. It just looks more evident in this image because of the vertical lines of the blocks in the walls.
I like the pic. Message edited by author 2007-06-25 00:12:46. |

My Lightby CharleneComment: I like the way you used the trees to cover a lot of the bright sky, and to frame the church. Shooting at a different time of day would give a shot from this same point a completely different look and feel. The backlight works well with your title in this case.
It looks like the lights on each side of the entrance are on? In archetectual shots like this, in order to get the lights to look good at dusk or after dark, a long exposure is used, and someone flips the lights on and off for just a blink. They show up good, and don't blow out completely that way. |

Alertby kteachComment: Cats have some of the most intense expressions of any animal. This is an excellent image as the subject is in great focus, and very sharp in detail. The exposure is right on too, as all the detail in the fur is easy to make out. I often shoot all manual, esp brids, which are so easy to overexpose. It seems to be a bit of a challenge to shoot all manual, but very rewarding to see the results when everyting is right. |

HotAirBalloons.4.jpgby RayEthierComment: That was a beautiful sunrise Ray. I can identify 4 of the shapes balloons as being the same ones that I saw at Abq. Balloon Fiesta in N M. You were in a good location to capture the scene from a pleasing elevation. |
