Where I live 1by carofoComment: From here in South Florida, this looks like a beautiful place. This image does justice to a magnificent landscape. The B& W works very nicely with the stark contrasts of snow and trees. |

aztec.jpgby desertoddityComment: This is a cool looking place, for a photo anyway. They did a good job decorating the place to look like Mexico, except that most of the buildings in Mexico have rebar iron rods sticking out of the top of the walls as if they are unfinished. They get some kind of tax break if the place isn't finished, so it is a loophole thing.
That said, I like the way you captured the feel of the place, and the way the cloud wraps over the top to accent the good composition and colors. I am happy that you included both the building and the sign, as they also amplify each other in the image. |

Signsby GermaineComment: With the B&W, this looks like a "set the scene" shot for a 50's detective or mystery movie. I see that you work near one of the primary streets thru town by the 100 street number. Excellent shot to show us one of your own views of where you live. |

ASU Signby BAMartinComment: Cool graphic image! It would be USA, but the S is backward.
A mirror flip would make the logo read right, and I would think that few people would notice the lettering on the building being backward.
This is a powerful shot. I wonder if the architect envisioned this relationship when they were designing the place? |

4 Wetlands worryby suemackComment: I like the composition of this shot a lot, with the curve in the water. If it is supposed to be a natural conservation area, then maybe they don't want it to look like a golf course? I would guess that the weeds may be exotic species. We get a lot of that sort of thing here in Florida. In that case, they do need to be removed to allow the native plants to do their thing.
Good move to use your camera to help the local environment. : ) |

Day 3 - The Indoor Birdby MaryOComment: People don't understand being owned by an african grey unless they have one. I hope that you always stay on the good side of Hildy. My Sammy was a sweetheart until the first time I trimmed his wing feathers. He has never forgiven me for that, and still will bite me hard sometimes. You didn't mention that Hildy probably imitates almost any sound she hears, like the phone, microwave ect. My Sammy made a fun game of the Nextel beep when he found that we would reach for our phones when he did it.
I very much like the dark background and shallow DOF in this shot, and yes, Sammy picks his feathers out too. He is upset now because I had to move him to a small cage to bring him in from this recent cold weather. |

January 1, 2008by NullixComment: That is one of the most absolutely amazing parades on the planet. I have seen it on television long ago, but your photograph is a much sharper image. You had good positioning to be able to get this float so nicely, and all the settings were right. |
