jog anywayby skewsmeComment: I like the scene, the focus and the composition in this one. I didn't vote this challenge, but I thought that this would place much higher. |

Dipper_3405by hahn23Comment: Shallow DOF is right for this one. People tend to overlook the "LBB's" or the Little Brown Birds. They are truly under-appreciated. |

Spotted!by EnlightenedComment: I wonder what that hand semaphore signal means? Good trick to get the guy with hands on his head and the sign behind him like that.
The guy with the binocs is surprised looking. |

Hopeful performance in Old Montréalby fisheyeComment: The first thing that I notice about this image is the composition being a lot of lined up squares. Squares everywhere, the box the tiles, the tree box, the accordion, even the crop. It makes the not square shape of the guy stand out even more. The photo in the box is a plus as well. This is good street photography! |

Annular Eclipseby cginoComment: Well done! It took some forethought and preparation to do this. You were in a good location and the weather was good too. |

IMG_1381_webby kirbicComment: There are a lot of interesting numbers with this image. The iso is a bit of a surprise. Maybe you chose that iso to keep shake to a minimum? Shooting through the trees makes for a more inviting photo of the event. |

WEB_Moon_1614r1by nidiciComment: This is a neat phenomenon. It's actually a rainbow, but there is not usually enough light to see the colors unless it's otherwise very dark outside, like out in the countryside.
It's nice that you were able to capture this one. |

through the shattered glassby tangueraComment: This was a good find. I notice the way the "rays" of cracks in the glass work to draw me to the hole, and into the scene beyond. This took some extra effort. I know that it's not comfortable to set up and shoot to the rear from the inside of a car.
This scene might have worked better with an ultra wide or fisheye, using very small aperture for great DOF, and by getting less of the glass, like a frame, and a longer part of the horizon.
It's different, and I see that I'm not the only one who likes that. Congrats on your new fish! |

Louisiana Dawnby cowboy221977Comment: This one is very relaxing to view. The smooth color and the stillness of the water make it connect. |

Spring Runoffby chazoeComment: Something seems a little "off" with the way the landscape across the middle looks, in relation to the rocky wall behind it. I'm not sure how that happened, unless it was the use of a ND Grad filter or a gradient in processing. The grass also looks a bit over-saturated on my monitor.
I can't quite put my finger on what's going on across the middle, but it seems strongest at the bottom of the upper waterfall, where the rock is in front of the water. Something about the edge there looks almost like that part of the scene was cut out and pasted over the fall.
The "soft" look is ok with me for the scene. I tend to like that for some scenes, but it generally does not do well with the DPC voters. |
