There is a lot of green on the nearby hill, so it must have rained recently. This shot is completely a different scene from your sunset shot for the last in the side challenge. Hope to share another of these sides with you, and thank you for all the comments.

Day "27" - Summer Sunset

That's kind of cool, and the softness is good for this scene. Don't try dunking your 40D to get this effect, but you may want to try breathing on the front of the lens to fog it , then shoot a few while it is evaporating just for fun sometime.

Day 31 - Melting Away

Nice textures in all of this shot, with the sand, the snow and water on the leaf. Detail in the snow is great.

Day 30 - Pileated Woodpecker

This is a very good shot of this "girl"! I would have tried to get at least one shot before moving around to get this one I think, but that may have scared her away. We have some of these that visit this neighborhood almost every day, and some little red heads nesting every year in the trees in our yard. They are difficult to photograph because they move around so much, and tend to stay high in the trees.

Day "28" - Navy Pier

Great view! I certainly would not want to be the new guy working there, because the job of changing those light bulbs would most likely be given to him. I notice that the place is not crowded.

Hermosa Pointe

This area looks a lot like part of New Mexico near Taos. It's beautiful country. I would miss all the greenery that I live with here after a while, but it would be a great place to visit.

Nice flower shot, and you controlled the capture of the red parts without oversat. I don't think that I have seen these growing anywhere in this area.

This is an awesome image IMHO. The sky seems made to order for the shot. They don't do much ice sculpture in this part of the world, so it is something that I would be very interested in seeing in progress.
