5DM Special Edition Coinsby bjoernComment: A dark background would have helped make the coins stand out. A light tent is good for this sort of subject too. Good focus and DOF with the f32. Stopping down to f32 gains DOF, but causes some loss of sharpness overall. It is not evident at this image size. If you shoot the same set up at 16 and 32, and view the images full size you can see the difference.
Your coin photos have been enjoyable to see during this side challenge, as they are so different from the ones I see daily. |

Day 13 - Beadsby kteachComment: I'm not sure what to say about this shot. I don't have the skills to suggest how to get the best of this subject. It's interesting that the sunset looks almost like flesh tones in the background. |

key largo.jpgby laurie241Comment: I like the high key(s) lighting in this shot. The sky and water look a lot like they do from a boat. You captured the smoothness of the water and landscape of the Keys in this shot. |

day 11by scwalshComment: After I get past my first thoughts about how much machining it must take to make one of these auger bits, I see the spiral as the main attraction. I think that I would have moved in closer, and left out the point end, to just have the spiral across the frame. This would be a good subject for a fisheye shot. Thanks for the idea! |

macro11.jpgby creek41256Comment: The colors and point of view make this a nice view of a small item. Good find, and well captured. I like the green leaves being with the flower too, to give it some sense of environment and that it is a whole live plant. |

Day 12by ZeppKashComment: I didn't recognize this at first, and I should have because I work with wire a lot. That looks like big wire, maybe 3-0 or MCM 250.
I don't know what to say about the HDR, as there is no original to compare it with. The end result seems a little bright, but the fine texture in the surfaces of the individual strands came out nice. Good subject. It has interesting textures. The one little piece of lint at the bottom keeps me coming back to it for some reason. I think it is partly because it is so different, and oriented differently to the general lines in that area. Good HDR alignment for a manual bracket too. |

30 Day Macro - Day 13by LincComment: Good detail and even lighting in this shot. It looks like it is lying on a slide viewing light table. Do I see your yellow shirt reflected in the threads? The lock washer adds some interest due to its different curved shape. |
