Nice shot, and I like having the BG in the shot as well. Looking at very old B&W photos, there are sometimes things of historical interest in the BG, like cars, signs, buildings, the way people dress ect that mean more to me than the main subject in the image. There's not much in the BG in this one that would fit that category, but it's a good street shot none the less.
I don't know whose move it is, but it's going to get messy pretty soon here. My bet is on black if it's his move.

Suspension Suspense

That's a cool looking bridge, but there's nothing here that grabs my attention. It might have helped to shoot the bridge from a POV on the other side of the roadway, so that the curve would bring the bridge into the shot instead of having it curve away from the center.
Generally, photos that are this dark overall do not score high in voting.
The boat is a nice addition, though it detracts from the bridge being the focal point of the image. The boat is what I want to look at in this one.
You're off to a pretty good start here at DPC. I look fwd to seeing more of your photos.

This is very similar to a bird we have here in S Florida that we call a Killdeer. I see that this one has been banded.
Nice shot, with good detail and color against the OOF background.

Same for me on the wiper blade looking like a gun barrel. Maybe you should edit the description and just let people guess. The dog shows up after you get past the initial surprise.

I can't remember ever seeing one of these in the wild. They are a dry countryside kind of bird, so we do not have them here in Florida.
Nice photo. He has enough contrast to stand out, even against the brown BG so that you can see the feather details. Maybe she had a nest nearby and was trying to draw you away. You were fortunate to get this close and that the light was so good.
