1M8H4990.jpgby Mal37Comment: It looks like they like that one tree for a roost. The one in the back on the right with a light colored neck is an anhinga. The short neck ones are cormorants. Anhingas have a longer tail and neck. Message edited by author 2008-07-01 22:45:45. |

Cuban Anoleby rox_roxComment: This is an excellent shot of one of these little guys showing off. They are difficult to photograph here because they are quite shy for some reason. The lighting, the foreground and background and the pose are all just right in this shot. |

Queen Bee'sby KaylaSkyeComment: I don't have any problem with the chains, as they frame the faces in this shot. I also find that the way they both seem to be focused on something helps connect the viewer with the photo thru curiosity about what they are seeing. |

Childrenby Bellissimo0106Comment: I can already see by your shooting and processing that you are going to be a serious contender in the challenges here at DPC. Welcome to the fun.
It may be a good idea to wrap some tape over the clamps on the swing lines so little hands will not get cut. : ) |

Star Lightsby BeagleboyComment: This shot has that awesome Fuji late evening color gradient. I like the solid and simple lines as well as the minimal clutter. It looks like a relaxing location to be at dusk. |

The Bunny Treeby MaryOComment: This scene is very to the point. It looks like a still from "101 Dalmations" in a way. I understand you frustration with trying to get them all adopted out. We have about 8 or 10 animals here now, not counting the dozen neighborhood free range chickens which hang around to eat left over and dropped parrot feed. |

'58 Delray -- Original Equipmentby GermaineComment: That's a great looking old Chevy. My buddy "Hot Shot' Mims and I made a beach buggy out of one of these in about 1967. It had the 348 cubic inch motor, with 3 "duces" (carburators) and would do great wheelies. We shortened the frame about 3 ft, and built our own minimal body with one open seat on it. It was a ton of fun, and I wish that I had some photos to show. We should probably be dead, but somehow it didn't happen. We got a ticket with it for doing wheelies on Los Olas in Ft Lauderdale at spring break that year. The "Beach Boys" were playing on the beach for free when we were there.
Thanks for the great memory jog!

He was a friend that I could not reachby CorySmithComment: Wow, You got trashed on this one. I found long ago that in DPC voter land, you have to hit a lot of voters between the eyes with the expected subject in order for them to connect the dots. Nice shot, and IMHO it fits the challenge nicely. It's pleasing to see something here besides gory or fun stuff like cookie stealing. This looks like an actual crime scene. |
