macro_8462.jpgby HeiSchComment: Smaller aperture for more DOF would have helped a lot to make this more pleasing to view. I like the composition and the huge contrast, as well as the repeating shapes of the beads in the chain. |

_DSC0190.jpgby sulamkComment: This is a very interesting bug. I see several areas that I would like to see a lot closer. The vein pattern in the wings, or the rough area right behind the head would make great subjects. I do understand that you can't always get living critters to cooperate when you want to photograph them though.

macro---2.jpgby incubusComment: The color tones and rusty texture do nicely to give this the look that it has been in the weather a long time. It makes me wonder what the cable is holding. |

Mr. Elephant Beetleby sherpetComment: That is a very impressive looking critter. I like the clarity in this, especially in the hairs around the legs. In the thumb, I could not tell if the split in the seed pod right behind the head was part of the bug, but in the full size, I see that it is not.
I am happy to see you back to shooting in your garden again. |

Beach - 1by JuliBocComment: Julianne, I knew that this was your work from just seeing the thumb, even before opening it. I knew from the colors and mix of shell and shapes that this was shot just above the tide line on the Gold Coast Beach. I like the combo of the shell and the little crab hole in the sand. The image reconnects me with happy days spent there long ago. Thanks for the reminder. |

utah.jpgby JerseyGenieComment: Nice take! It is good that you were there at a good time to get the low angle light, and the clouds behind the rock add a lot of depth. |

Monday Morningby Purple_GirlComment: I understand this scene. You are pretty harsh on yourself about the technical aspect of this. That's a good way to begin learning how to get exactly what you want. If you know what you don't like, then you begin to notice it more when you are composing or setting up for a shot.
This is not bad at all for a 10 minute shoot.
It's a good take on the challenge subject. |

A Moonlit Night With Ikeby bvyComment: This is a cool and rather spooky shot. I'm glad that you didn't get harmed while out in the wind and that the lights went out right on cue.
Congrats on a fine finish, and thank you for the thoughtful comment on my entry. |
