Evening Grosbeakby MaryOComment: It's good that you were ready when this little guy appeared at your feeder. One of the nicest things about being a photographer is that you get to keep these little moments and savor the details later. The BG is nice in this as you said, and you did an excellent job with the cloning. |

Sage Faceby MaryOComment: Ya made me laugh with this one : )
Thanks, I needed a grin.
So, just as I am clicking the "Post" button, I notice that the photo is in the "Architecture" gallery. Even more : ) Message edited by author 2009-01-22 22:16:17. |

Contemplating One More Tidbitby MaryOComment: This is lovely. I like that you were able to hold the detail, even in the dark area around the birds eye. The nice soft colors in the background/bokeh is good in this shot too. |

Take 2 Peso (Birds Challenge)by BalkoComment: This is a gorgeous close up. Parrots make great pets if you have neighbors who don't mind when the birds want to make a lot of happy racket.
They are much smarter than most people think they are.

Mass Ascension 7:25 A.M.by BalkoComment: I happened to see this when I looked at your profile. I was there with one of the teams that day too, and had been up the day before. It was the best day ever for having that kind of event.
The colors and the solid blue sky make this a stunning shot. |

How rude! #2by robinssongComment: Good timing LOL. It looks pretty good for iso 800. The 3 item composition is good too because it adds interest due to the interaction and the indifference of the 3rd bird. |

eagle9.JPGby icu1965Comment: I am not sure what I would do about the shadow across the image here. It looks like the shadow of a telephone pole because it is straight. You were shooting in tough conditions with the huge contrast of the snow and the bird, and overcast, and you made it look pretty good. You didn't post shooting info with this shot. I have found that at 300 mm, I have to shoot at 1/1500 or faster to get sharp hand held images. I also noticed that my favorite birding glass, the 300 4.5 Nikkor is not as sharp as I would like it to be when shooting at 4.5, so I have to stop down to 5.6.
That's why I use a monopod for most of my tele shots. |

Lizardby Dominic146Comment: Nice job of PP to reduce sat for this item. The muted colors bring out the detail in the skin and eyes, and that is also helped by the shallow DOF from the 2.8. |

Robinby SaraRComment: This robin looks very tiny compared to the ones that I see here in Florida. I like the close up look of this shot, and the wire is a nice perch, as it gives a good sense of scale to the birds size. The blue and totally blurred BG is right for this too. |

Did you hear the one about the Great Blue Heron? by fldaveComment: This is a nice shot of the curlew at home. I would bump up saturation a little to get the dark green in the hyacinths to show up a little stronger.
These are white ibis, and the one with the brown is a young one, at least that is what the old timers here in the glades say. |
