Comment:
Green Herons are very pretty when the sun hits them from the right angle. Most of their feathers are iridescent and the pattern on their wings makes for good photos.
This one seems pretty tame. They usually like to sort of hide in the brush or back in the trees. Nice catch!

Very nice! Great lighting and processing with this one. Good detail everywhere, and it has the Florida sky in the BG.

Comment:
Yes, I agree with the Anhinga group. They are quite a show when they spread their wings to dry out, with all the black and white alternating banding of feathers.
The top of the Cormorant's beak is hooked at the end. The Anhinga fishes by spearing the fish underwater, the Cormorant by grabbing the fish in it's beak underwater.

It looks like you have visited my part of the world recently. Airboating is a great way to see wildlife, but as you said, you have to be ready if you want photos while underway.
There are a couple of egret roosts within 15 miles of where I live, and it's been interesting to photograph them with their eggs and babies over the last couple of weeks. Vawendy was here with her family the 4th and 5th and we had a great time out shooting this area.

I found it odd that we both shot photos for two solid days and didn't really shoot anything with solid leading lines in it. I guess we were just too distracted to think about shooting for the challenge at the time.
This is a pretty good one though. I like what cutout said.

This is a crazy combo shot Roz. The pelican's feet make the shot for me LOL.

The bright green just jumps out from the earthy colors in the rest of the image. That's a very nice color contrast.
I like the old treadle sewing machine stand in this one too. It adds an element of history to the scene.

Beautiful shot. Is that a coal mine in the foreground? We don't get anything at all like the clear skies that you have there this time of year. It's fire season here, so the horizon is hazy in the evenings.

Love it! Thanks for sharing, both the image and the story. I have never heard of "doggles" LOL.
I hope that the chemo works for her.
