You grabbed the moment. Sometimes that is what it takes to get the good stuff. Grand shot, and congrats.

The HDR makes for terrific detail in this image. As was mentioned, the clouds must have changed between shots, making the sky look a little odd, but still very dramatic. It's a beautiful scene, and a fine image.

I would like one of the "pizza" ones. This is a nice little glimpse of your world, and exactly what the snapshot side challenge is about.

Ayrshire? Sounds like pirate cows LOL.
I shoot with my P&S quiet often while cruising, but there is very little traffic out here in the sticks where I commute. I have learned to hold my camera left handed, cradle it my palm, and reach under the lens and up around the front to trip the shutter. I don't look at the scene or compose while driving, but sometimes I will glance to see where the horizon is in the shot. It's easy with a little practice at shooting from the hip and not looking at the camera.

That's a queen trigger fish. They eat little crusty critters like crabs and coral, so they have the tough buck teeth for it. The reason that they are called trigger fish is that you can't push down the big dorsal fin unless you push the smaller one down first, like a trigger. They are beautiful on the reef.

Barracuda are one of the most curious of fish. If you are in ones territory while diving, it will be looking right over your shoulder every time you look back. It's as though they are wanting to know all about what you are doing. I have landed many fish heads thanks to these guys, but hey, they need to eat too, so it's all right with me.

Nice shot Barbra. This is a "Catalina Macaw." There is one that lives at my place. They are intelligent and sweet in disposition too, making them one of the most preferred parrots for a pet. I love the way the feathers glow like neon in the sunlight.
