A Visitorby DigiFotoBuddyComment: This is a beautiful little scene. I like the way the BG colors and the colors of the bird mesh. Well done. |

Banff 3by LevTComment: I like the way the light fades off at the edges of the trees. |

Knee deepby scooter97Comment: The snow looks nice, and would be fun for a visit, but I would not want to know that I would have to live with it. I still remember what a mess it makes when it melts, from the time that I was in central Michigan for about half of a winter. |

animal-motion-9.jpgby vawendyComment: With another couple of shots, one from the front, and one from the side, you could make a very cool triptich. You have your "bird studio" shots honed to an art now. |

Robinby hajekaComment: You have very good lighting for this. The detail in the feathers is impressive as well. |

Watching Yaby DigiFotoBuddyComment: That's a very cool looking half wink. The detail in the feathers and eyes is enhanced by the totally OOF BG and the high contrast. The one ear snuck out of the photo a bit, but I had to look for a while to notice that. The eyes have it. |

Red Candleby ScooterMcNuttyComment: This makes a very good subject, and the angle and range that you shot it from gives it a sense of dimension. The exposure is just right too. Candles can be fascinating, and you captured that with this shot. |

Winter Rainby Luci11eComment: I would have probably shot this in color, then tried processing to B&W first, then maybe add the sepia after that.
I don't know what program you are editing with, but even in basic challenge rules, you can adjust B&W quiet a bit. Try sliding the saturation all the way down, then play with the color sliders, and watch how the image changes with each slider. You can also do a lot with levels after moving the saturation to zero. It works like using deep colored filters with B&W film, ie, a dark red filter makes the blue sky and clouds look nice with B&W film, a green filter helps make skin contrasty and better defined.
Composition and subject are good in this. Keep shooting, and posting. |
