I'm all for a good DOF picture and this IS one - but by blurring the one in front of the flower as well, it blurs the stem of this one too much for my tastes....also, why not a bit of a closer crop to get rid of a bit of the green?

In bloom, but just tired and laying down? I like this shot, but the placement of the stem in the shot makes it look like this flower is 'tired' - and since it looks SO full of life - it just contrasts to me. Anyways... "good shot."

First thought - dramatic lighting, boring subject. I like the colors, but I'm not sure about the light on the top - seems overbright and it kills the details.

The white pencils blend in with the background and the blur where they are taped or attached is a bit strange.. I like the detail you captured, though some of the outer pencils are starting to blur a tiny bit.
