Come Togetherby friscaComment: I was just going through some old stuff and I found this photo again. I just love the mystery and elegance of this shot. It was fun reading how you did it! I'm glad it did well; it was certainly one of my favorites for this challenge. The off center composition invites us to see beyond the image, as it were, and implies much more than if it were centered, and the negative space at left does a nice job at creating mood and building the story here. Really fun shot; I love the abstract qualities it possesses! I really look forward to seeing more of your excellent work! --David |

Orange Autumn Leavesby Girl from OZComment: I'm just revisiting this shot, which I like immensely. You really know how to capture the colors at this time of day! I know how patient one must be to get to a place at the right time! The foreground water is superb, and the lines add another contrast and dimension to the shot. I love that the horizon is tilted--I'm sure your camera is actually level--this is a hill, right? The only thing I would change is where the top half of the photo meets the bottom half. You actually have four parts: the sky, the rows of vines, the water in the foreground and the dark area at the bottom. That's tough to compose as they are all horizontal parts.
I really look forward to seeing more images from you! |

whispers and giggles by ursulaComment: Hi Ursula, I'm just studying this photo again, and I marvel at the skilled use of lighting here. I'm just noting where the darkest shadows are and where the light rests. The composition and cropping are outstanding, too. This is just superb! I hope you don't mind if I copy this technique in the near future! |

When the Pickin's Done by dsidwellComment: A few of you didn't like my border, but I really tried many borders, and most of mine are very simple. This one looked by far the best to me. Thanks for your comments. This was a fun shot to take! |
