I really like the simplicity of this and think that the desat really suits the topic here.

While arguably you haven't actually taken very much colour out, you have still taken out enough to clearly differentiate the subject from the background.

i also like the dynamics of the girl with one leg raised clearly moving into the oicture and so closer to the viewer. Really good.

Wow what incredible landscape!!

All this needs (in my opinion)is a bit more punch to the colours and lighting and it would be magnificent - it's just falls between soft pastels and punchy colours though and ends up a little flat.

It might well be fixable in post processing though.

Don, I like the shot and think it was worth capturing this girls magnificent outfit whatever the crop is like.

That said, the crop doesn't really work for me, bizarrely it very nearly works because it is so odd . . she's too high in the picture, too central, the central vertical is off center, etc etc, and it does lead to a quirky charm, but i think in the end I find there to be just too much road in front of her and it almost gives the effect of the whole frame slipping down. You want to grab the edges and lift it up again : )

I wonder whether more of a letter box type crop would work ?

I have too agree with Melethia though - she does look grumpy. Did she get the skittles of the last photographer she beat up ?
