Freshly Squeezed by TechoComment: Quite brilliant, and a shining example of what can be done under 'Basic editing'.
Very well deserved ribbon, and awesome score (currently 6th highest score ever taken on the site)
- this could be on your front page for a while : ) Message edited by author 2008-02-13 02:44:47. |

Milk. There's nothing like it.by h2Comment: I was sure this would finish in the top 20 somewhere.
Seems that too many people simply didn't get the picture. Doesn't change the fact that it's a good shot though : )
Good DoF, great lighting. |

The Things We've Seenby MAKComment: Great shot, and very evocative title.
The title really sets the scene here and draws the viewer further into the shot to explore something of his appearence and consider his character from the presented visual evidence - The Tattoes, the beads, the darkness deliberately shading most of him.
But by allowing him to lean forward 'out of the night' as it were and make contact with you, you have altered the dynamics.
The suggestion that what is around him, in real life - and in the picture, is dark indeed, literally and metaphorically, yet in the midst of this there is the visual contact - the reaching out, the few words suggesting that there is more to this guy than just a scary image, within him there is still a heart and soul despite all, there is still a person there that deserves a moment of your time . .
Good shot - hope it does well. |

Nature's Eye Make-upby zohar-halfonComment: Delightful colours and detail.
I guess slightly debatable whether this is more of a portrait of the parrots head than a shot about eyes - but a very nice shot. |

Untitled...by zclareComment: I always find it disappointing when a striking shot has no title to go with it . . a title can be used for many things - to explain a shot, to lead the viewer into a shot, to highlight a feature of the shot, to give context and depth to the 2D image . . even just to give a documentary fact about the shot - so if anyone wonders what sort of bird it is with such striking green and gold on their face they will know.
Nice shot - shame about the title :- ) |
