Parting Waysby
Art RoflmaoComment: Ken - there is so much to like about this shot, the great composition and use of selective focus, the gentle muted tones, the visual depth with Riley right at the front of the frame going all the way back to the barely there headland.
The choice of frame nicely compliments the whole ethos of the lens baby shot with it varying in sharpness at different stages around the picture. There is also the pleasing angle created by the waves, the gentle tension of three different directions of movement - the waves in one direction, the gull in the exact opposite and Riley following the shore line in the third.
This is all tied together with the last two aspects (if you've even got this far) firstly Rileys posture - hood up, head down, hands shoved in pockets, and last of all the title - tying it together, adding a gentle sombreness, almost poignancy to the shot.
Alternatively he was wandering along the beach on a blustery day wishing he was at home in the warm :- )
Cool shot - best we don't let you do any more camera upgrades if you are going to start doing these sort of pictures . .
