Lemonsby dafletchrComment: There's something quite fascinating about this shot - although I'm not entirely sure why :- )
It might be the simple strong geometry, or the subtleness of the overlays - heck it might even just be the lemons - but I get drawn back to it in fascination.
Good work ! |

Urban Girlby SandyPComment: Sandy - this is such a strong shot and such a pretty young lady.
And your absolutely right, side challenges are a brilliant place to try out all those ideas in our heads, and do a completely different style of picture. |

Nice shot - it would be really interesting to see this reworked with some of the suggestions below. |

Sea Whispers by luvmyaussieComment: Nice work - the vignette effect of the border helps to bring the viewer into the picture. |

little green tree frogby rozComment: Nice shot Roz.
So when you say he's in a Mandarin tree just how high up is he ? Sorry if it's a dumb question but we don't have tree frogs here ( . . or mandarin trees . . or sunshine . . )

Fairytaleby gsalComment: At first glance I am struck by the lovely deep colours in this - but as you look deeper there is so much going on. First you have the birds on the right swimming serenely then as you travel across the page (right to left) there is increasing action and motion blur, then you notice that the bird on the extrmeme left has left a trail of splashes in the water where he has run to build up speed !
As if that is not enough there is a lovely symetry between the blue and white of the water and snow on the ground, reflected by the sky and clouds.
Still not enough to get your attention ? Well how about the nice layering with a foreground consisting of the water and birds, the middle ground having an abandoned farm building, and that lovely sky making up the background ?
Maybe you prefer shapes ? ok - how about the circular island the birds are on, the square block of the farm and the strip of land seperating the water and sky ?
Really cool shot. My only question is whether the top and bottom borders are a little too heavy ? There are so many delicate elements in the picture that I wonder whether reducing this one element might balance it better ?
Great shot though.
