My Three Childrenby JudiComment: This a simply amazing triple(!) portrait. Love the seriousnesses, the slightly different direction of the gazes. Real people. |

deerby tnunComment: Thanks, voters and commenters. Actually, kotzie, I wanted the sort of Rousseau effect of the deer being part of the background, though I regret having had to have sacrifice definition to do so. |

Charlotteby TranquilComment: Actually I like the original primarily because it shows me what I miss in the processed version - the area around Charlotte's eyes, and tells me more about Charlotte. Truly appreciate the difficult choices made in BW conversion, and in contrasts, and in photographing black animals. Could also be that the size and compression make impossible the details I'd like to see. |

Precision Landing by owenComment: Just saw this. Timing, exposure, processing, definition and we can even see pelican's expression of concentration, or so I interpret. Totally raises the bar. |

Waiting to Dieby Dr.ConfuserComment: Confess to an ambivalence about the title - was able to allow for the possibility of something like your explanation, but it still didn't sit right. There are so many interesting and contrasting facets to this photo that it does require the mind to pay attention, so much so that it is one of those rare photos worthy of "untitled." |

Winter in Seattle (Inspired by Henri Silberman)by Dr.ConfuserComment: What I like is the busy foreground, then the unbusy skyscrapers -so smooth, linear, and then the wonderfully similarly toned sky with cloud. Never seen any composition like it, though indeed have probably passed this on the highway, it is very vaguely familiar. |
