This photo needs no title, at least in the way I like to look at it. At first glance it might be posed: the grasping fist is iconic, and the boy's lips are full and dark as a lipsticked girl's and I am led to think a bit of lipstick got smudged on the cheek. But the expression goes beyond everything: something is happening way beyond the boy's experience/expectation even as he tries to keep his sidelocks out of his face. Where will he go from here, what will he think?
