Wonderful balance in both photograph and title, and in both photograph and title together. Who uses "baleful?" People who see dog faces everywhere, I expect.

My goodness: the iterated round tops of the hay bales are like magnets, pulling all the light and all the gloom (and the energy that light and gloom make together) right down into the middle of that dark belt where the trees meet the earth.

Very interesting: the red buttes and the town of Green River look like an old hand coloured photograph, and the sky is surely something else. (Had family in G.R., going way back; this is very evocative of my visits there).
