Walkabout2.jpgby LouisaComment: Louisa, this is my favorite of your walkabout photos. I love the s-curve created by the rocks marking the path which leads your eye right to the lone cactus. Although normally I like more foreground in shots like these so that the cactus appears further away and more "lonely" I think your composition works well. You might try it next time though..get lower to the ground and back some more if possible. The sepia tone works very nicely on this and really looks like an old west photo.
Another think I like is the fairly high harsh sun which really creates some great shadows. This would have taken on a completely different feel on a cloudy day with soft light. |

And In A Flash...They Were Beaten!by imagesbytlpComment: Hey Terri, very clever take on the challenge. I really like your shot and I'm shocked it didn't score a 6, but it sure got close! I love the lighting, it really makes the eggs look interesting. |

Day 29 - Let's Eat!by JLCComment: Great shot! This really makes a nice b/w photo. It must have been difficult to get a crisp shot with 1/8 shutter speed. I can see a little movement in the cow's heads, but not enough to distract. Don't be afraid to bump that 400d up to 800 or even 1600 ISO so you can get a little faster shutter speed. |

Scary Alienby dtremainComment: I like it! I have a similar stark pattern shot for my day 29 that I just posted. I think the title is perfect. Looks like a snowman alien! |

29 - Ballistersby BudComment: very interesting curves and patterns. I like the texture of the in focus column and it makes me want the other ones in focus as well. I'm guessing this was shot on the long end of the 70-300..I wonder if you could have gotten closer and shot at 70 at f16 if you could have gotten them all in focus....Anyway, just a thought and I like it as is. |

Day 28by digitalpinsComment: I like the tones of this very much, but the composition to me isn't as interesting as some of your other grafiti shots. My eyes don't really land anywhere like the others. |

Day 25: Humming Alongby EstimatedEyesComment: I didn't think I would like this looking at the thumbnail, but I do at full size. I agree with cogerox however about the oof branches, and I wonder if they could simply be cropped off or you could clone them out. I'm amazed you didn't have any fringing in this, especially cropped at 75%, that Pentax lens must be great. |
