Flying as she fallsby hannekeComment: Very nice! Great high key shot with good seperation from background. I love the natural vignetting from the background light. My favorite aspect is the diagnonal created by the feather...great touch. 10 |

Warm Glow of Homeby littlegettComment: Beautiful capture. The composition is great, and lighting is wonderful. You've given the shell something to rest on too which makes a big difference. I really love the fact that you used a separation light so there isn't any light spill onto your subject and I'm assuming that is what caused the warm glow...The only small nitpick is that it appears sharpness has suffered from something...perhaps shallow DOF or the lens...it is not enough to take away from a beatiful composition though. 9 for now but I'll probably come back and bump to 10 depending on other shots I see.... |

The Warmthby shalrathComment: Great lighting and professionally done. Those nuts are really lively! Thanks for providing some light around the mug so it isn't floating in space, I appreciate that. I love the specular higlight that isn't overwhelming and the great modeling light. The only suggestion would be to perhaps include a background light just to give it a little more "classical" feel, but that is just a personal preference. Oh yea and those crumbs don't do anything for me :)

"Joseph Guarnerius, 1751"by alexzenComment: Hey that looks very similar to my daughter's violin! I had taken a still life of it too for this challenge but decided on another shot. You have captured it beautifully and I love the placement and lighting. This is a classic still life and well done...9
Here is mine:

We've always wondered about the history of ours. Is yours made by Joseph Guarnerius? Perhaps ours is too???? What is on the back of yours? |

Three Flowersby tfarrell23Comment: Beautiful color choice and composition. A perfect 10 if you could have kept a little more detail and seperation in the yellow flower..9 |

With Tomatoesby sfaliceComment: classic still life so you get extra credit :). The subjects are so unlrelated that it confuses me and I don't know if I like it or love it. Either way your lighting is fantastic. I love the fact that you used a softbox to get those beautiful transparent specular highlights (or at least you recreated that look with whatever you used!). I'm having a hard time comeing up with a final score ... 9 for now but I really wished that pepper wasn't there. |

Shell with Flowerby JeffryZComment: Very strange and alluring subject...I don't really even know what it is. I love the muted tones though. I'm giving it a 9 and would have given a 10 if it weren't for the distracting sides on the background (Well I like the right side that keeps you in the photo, but the left side is distracting). |

Tribute To Van Daelby scarbrdComment: Very nice...I usually don't like such busy compositions but this really works with all those wonderful colors. You can let yourself relax and enjoy the abstractness and shapes, or you can focus in on specific elements...well done 10
PS, I like the choice of red background instead of black for what it is worth... |
