Great minds think alike! I shot a leaf today too for this side challenge called "Fall is in the air". I love your composition and the bright little leaf in the sea of black bricks. The texture and tone of those bricks is amazing....

The tones of this are wonderful! I would have definately perfered a sharp view, but knowing the reason makes it OK! It has an old west historic aspect that I love. The compositon is great and makes you wonder about Carl and his life...Thanks, wonderful shot.

Just dropping by group A to see what is going on and this thumbnail just grabbed me...what a wonderful composition! The framing really sets it off too. Thanks for such a great work of art!

I love the composition you have created and the overall "feeling", but there are some things that bring the quality down in my opinion. First, overall sharpness is lacking (probably due to the 1/15 shutter speed), second is the dark face so you can't see any detail in his expression, and third is the sightly slanted bright window panes? that are in the background. They are distracting for me. I'm thinking that you could have shot at highest ISO to get your shutter speed up a little. Higher noise would not have hurt this photo at all. Anyway, these are just my opinions.

I love the motion and emotion that you have captured here! Great tonal range which really makes this a great B/W. I love the diagonal lines too. I'm not to fond of the large white border, but I think it does need one...just maybe smaller. A lovely capture!

There are several things that make this shot great for me. First is the strong patterns throughout the photo from the windows to the open draws. Next is the pure chaos involved....with the hard diagonal window shade bottom puncuated it off. The most interesting thing is the inviting leading lines that draw your eye right up into the kitchen....very inviting, but then when you get into the kitchen you're surrounded by the chaos.

Lovely portrait and I hope to see more of her! To me the photo is balanced just fine with perhaps just a little more weight on the bottom third because of her eyes.....I do think that you went a little too strong on the sharpening, there is an obvious halo on her left arm. The lighting is very soft and wonderful to match the subject!

I really love this capture of speed...The centered compostion absolutely works wonderully and the since of speed is so great even with frozen motion of a fast shutter speed. I don't know yet if it is my favorite of the challenge as I haven't gone through all of them, but it certainly is up there!

Great composition and timing! I know it must have been hard not to clone out the blue hat and green grass, but I hope people don't count off for that. The one thing I don't get is the title because the runner is obviously beating the throw. 8

The selective desat on this is just so weird an so intrigueing....99.9999% of the time this would have failed miserably, but I really like it. It is the beard that really makes it pop :) As far as speed goes, it isn't a stretch to interpret this as the speed of the human brain....9
