I wish you had included a story with this (even tho now I have scrolled down and read your comment). It could have been a cultural learning experience for some of us :) I gave this a 6 during the challenge because I thought there was something interesting going on because of the men all looking in the same direction. So the title helped me understand some but without the title, I don't know what's going on. I loved the perspective and the natural lighting of this. I also think it's funny that one of the men down the line is sneaking a glance at you. I like this mostly because you are showing something that I have never been witness to in life. Thanks for doing that.

I didn't vote in this challenge since I guess I did not know what cool colors were lol. I see the "sharp" comment and I have to say that this looks perfect as it is. I feel like I am in the water with it. I love how the top (or head?) looks like a parasol.

I did not give this one a score because I saw your note in the thread and figured this was yours. By looking at the scores, people obviously did not figure it out. Too bad you did put it in the wrong challenge because I thought it was really good for the portrait challenge. I love how you caught him while banging the drum and it's also cool that he is looking at you too.

The Warmth of Spring

Anywho, beautiful job of catching the warmth of the tulip. I am soooo ready for spring now! You were joking about the studio lights and all but I tell you I think a flower like this would look amazing against a dark background. Not that I really know what I am talking about. But in my head it looks pretty.

I'm very glad for you that you got a 6+ score!

Well I thought this was beautiful and i gave this a 7 on the first pass and unfortunately did not have time for a second re-evaluation. I'm thinking there are two reasons why I did not give it a higher go around the first time. 1) The background noise. Not sure why it's there at ISO 200 but maybe because of saturation? and 2) I wanted to see more of the flower in focus because to me, that is the main subject. Not sure how you fix that at f22? Step back a little further? Anyway, I still like it lol.

I know this is a different FS shot - but I had to comment! I like how you are going all Jean Reno again lol. It's dark and mysterious. Ok I guess it will be darker when the light goes out. But it really is a cool photo and should have scored higher!

While I was here in your portfolio, I had to comment on this one. I think this should have scored higher. I gave this a 7. I loved the golden colors and the outline of the curves is beautiful!

Not bad for your first FS entry. I really got pounded in my first or second one (or maybe both lol). I will say that I gave this one a 5. I have higher expectations when I vote in this challenge. I think you have a very pretty scene but at first glance, nothing grabs my attention. The tree should be the focal point and it's competing mostly with that brick on the right. I personally think this photo is a good candidate for black and white processing. It will really make the tree pop. And also cut out the bricks on the right. Just a thought for you. :)
