J-MeComment: Earl flew quickly down the stairs
To run and look at the seven pairs
Of shoes he left by the door.
He hoped to find
Gifts from a spirit so kind
Because he did not want to go to the store.
See, Earl was a dork
And rammed his fork
Into the heart of the TV remote
In great despair
He knocked over his chair
And ran to throw on his coat
He stopped in his tracks
Before putting on his slacks
Because something had caught his attention
By the door,
He saw on the floor,
The shoes put there by his children
Tonight was the night
A visitor sneaks in from out of sight
To leave little gifts in all the sneakers
St. Nicholas time!
Earl knows I cannot rhyme!
So we will end this soon for all the readersâ€Â¦
Much to his delight,
St. Nicholas took care of Earl’s plight
And filled his shoes with plenty.
But later to his dismay,
Earl again had a bad day,
Because the battery compartments of all the remotes
Were empty . :)
