Points for a well composed image, the curve of red is certainly visually appealing, and you have done well to reatin detail throughout the whites. That said, whilst the photograph displays competant technical skills, there is nothing about it that makes me want to view it again.

Not sure I would want to get that close! The detail in the eye is amazing; it would have been good to have a wider dof and for the teeth to be in focus too, but difficult with macro.

The silky water is appealling, but for me lack of any detail in the grey uniform sky reduces the impact the photograph might otherwise have.

A wonderful portrait - you have captured bags of character in the animated facial expression, the orange of the headscarf provides just the right amount of colour and looks good against the greys and blacks of the background, and the simple uniform pattern of the softly focussed wrought iron bacground provides a good foil for your subject. Impressive.
