I'm not entirely satisfied with this one, and suspect the voters will think likewise. Let's just say this shot looks a lot more impressive when viewed larger than 640 max. Bug is about 1/2 inch in size; despite refrigeration, he wouldn't quit moving - this is one of his more contemplative moments.
What I do like about it is the lighting - I think I got good, even lighting.

You got an 8 from me! I agree with you about the lighting - it's terrific! I also really like the composition, with the leaves drawing my eye to the lower left.
Nicely composed, and I like your choice of dof. The detail on the insect is quite hard to see, although focus looks fairly sharp - perhaps it has suffered in the file compression?
