Commented on this one during voting - I did wonder if it was yours, but was sure you had said you hadn't entered the challenge! For me it is the perfect group photo - well setup and composed but fun and relaxed at the same time.

They look tasty! The white bowl is very effective, and well placed compositionally. The lighting does seem just a tad harsh, and my eye gets drawn to the cherry at rear right, which is soft due to the fall off in depth of field.

How cold that water looks! The pose of the would-be surfer adds to the sense of coldness - he does look rather reluctant to join his fellow surfer!

I looked at this for some time when I first went through the photos in the challenge. It reminds me of myself, and that made me uncomfortable. I see a feeling of anxiety, of concern; that the photo encourages some viewers to explain it in terms of their own experiences and character is a strength of the image and the way in which it is presented. Thank you for entering it.

I voted this unjustly low when voting - I gave all photos at least two viewings, but for some reason although I looked at this, I didn't really SEE it. I really like the patterns of the snow on the frozen river. The perfectly lit domed building peeking out provides the perfect foil to the wide vista.

I like this, not least because I am a cat lover. I like the way the windows reflected in the bottom pane fly out from themselves. I like the way the reflection of the trees appears to be the dream of the cat. I like the way the reflection of the same building in the two different panes appears to be two different scenes.
