This is a photo of Corona Arch near Moab. Post processing consisted mostly of adding curves/levels to the color version, then converting to b/w and using dodge and burn. Hope you like it!

This is so simple, yet so stunning. Great tones, detail and composition. One of my favourites in the challenge.


Now that my comment about your photo is done... please bear with me while I use your image in a little comment experiment... something like K10DGuy's comments, but with a twist... the twist being, the story will move from one photo to another within the challenge.

The three ventured south... FAR south... but found nobody. They did manage to find the occasional pieces of vegetation, which they shared... however, they were tiring. They decided to take shelter from the sun in a cave and rest before they continued their trek to find others.

A very strong composition, but for me the image would benefit from a stronger monotone conversion with more contrast.

This just falls short of being great. I don't see any true blacks in this scene. I think a curves adjust might have fixed that and make this pop off the screen. Right now it just looks a little flat to me.
