I have spent a little time reading around Adams work before voting, but would not claim to be well-acquainted, so take my words for whatever they might be worth! This, both subject wise and in terms of processing doesn't make me think of Adams. On a purely subjective view, and separate from the challenge title, the colour caste doesn't seem to work with the photo, rather pulls against it; the flower and it's leaves seem to be fighting against the cluttered background, and the mono conversion is fairly bland.

An interesting photo, but doesn't entirely work for me. There is much detail, but it is hard to make it all out. I don't know whether choosing different colour channels for your conversion would have helped?

A good mono conversion, although not so keen on the cramped composition, in particular the missing section from the bottom of the boat. A very impressive deep depth of field.
