In the middle of new housing development.by fototracyComment: I think you did a nice job to get the subject off center and to control the rather difficult to deal with grey sky. As Sonifo commented, taking a lower angle may add a bit more drama to the shot. Also, the barn itself comes off as rather dark, maybe trying to photograph it in the early morning or early evening when the light is softer may help pull out the textures and soften the sky.
This barn sure needs some more investigation on your part! I think you could find about 10 entries out of that one barn. I could imagine that there are lots of cool bits that could be taken in macro - rust and decay sure show up great in close ups. |

Town Hall Day 23by riversongComment: This one is awesome! The lighting is really warm and the streak of light from the car is pretty darn cool. I like how the lights are not blown out.
On the levelness of the photo - that is really easy to fix in photoshop! If you use it, send me a pm and I can walk you through how to make it level. Message edited by author 2008-01-23 18:10:24. |

Cuddle Buddyby XMountaineerComment: You have a cute dog. I think you did a pretty nice job with the focus on the face. A couple of things I noticed:
I think the most major issue with the photo lies in the use of on camera flash. It will really give you very harsh lighting as it is directly at the subject, giving harsh shadows. Taking a photo in poor light will generally result in a low score here at DPC.
From a composition standpoint, the narrow crop of the photo makes the image seem a bit closed in to me. By going to a more square crop - it would allow you to keep the bear and the dog at opposite corners of the photo and provide a more interesting composition.
Keep snapping and keep entering! Message edited by author 2008-01-23 17:58:54. |

Burst of Mellowby riversongComment: Excellent work here - the vibrant-ness of the yellows is so cheerful and bright. I wouldn't call it mellow at all! |

Sand and Sunby jaysonmcComment: This really has a cool feel - If I would have voted I would likely have voted it down, but I do like the layers of colors and how it reminds of those big swooping abstract paintings that cover walls in museums |
