I like the items - though I'm not exactly sure what they are (cactuses?) I like the lighting and strong shadows as well. Good luck in the challenge.

Charming. Both conceptually and in render. I would have preferred them to be resting on sand but enjoy it as is.

the long shadows creates a very cool feel to the image - and the choice of multiple colors adds a nice bit of interest

I like the idea and the increase in scale, but i think the space at the top is superflous. Maybe if the urchins were aligned across the very top of the frame the shadows would merge with the darkness and would look a bit better? The greay at the top does nothing for me i'm afraid.

I like this abstraction of sixness! The dramatic lighting emphasizes the repetition to give us rhythm.
