Egret 1by MelonMusketeerComment: what dynamic and intense colors - i love that the egret jumps out due to its shape and white color |

Odd Domino Rallyby bobonacusComment: a good concept shot for the odd challenge - but i agree with a couple other comments - the background really hurt your score - simplicity works great here at DPC and the background had far too much going on so that we as viewers and voters could not see the tiles for the trees |

P&S Day 10 - Wetlandsby JuliBocComment: the layers of greens from the grasses and plants would sure look good at full resolution
i have noticed the same thing with complex shots - they don't hold up well to compression and size restrictions - i guess you remind me that i need to stay very simple to score well here at DPC |

Day 10by tpbremerComment: this seems so three dimensional - the high degree of detail, the extent of saturation, the use of HDR to accentuate the objects and dark areas
my one concern is the use of blurring - i am going to have to submit this for validation - i think someone is tinkering with the photos again!
and by the way - i thought that there were no rules in side challenges except those that you agree to use |

pelican.jpgby icu1965Comment: this little guy has more landing area - we don't have these big guys up our way - i just love to see them though- goofy and regal in the same bird |

Grrrr Trucking by MelonMusketeerComment: i always thought truck drivers were dogs - but now I have proof or is it 'roof'
the centered crop works well here - the facial expression of the 'driver' really jumps out at us |

P&S Day 11 - Rock & Waterby JuliBocComment: rock, water - is this a science experiment? is that a pyrophoric metal that is just about to burst into flames when the water hits it?
good details captured - with the droplet nice and sharp and the sand/rock very vibrant indeed |

Day 8by tpbremerComment: exquisite details captured here - a pretty mundane subject but extremely well delivered - good eye to find the light here |

Day 6by tpbremerComment: the motion you have created here gives this semi engine almost the look of a souped up race car - very cool - i am not sure if it is legal in advanced - i think the creation of motion not present in the original is not allowed, except for in Expert editing where anything goes |

Day 7by tpbremerComment: i like how you 'kicked up' the flatness and beauty of the Midwest skyline
that is home to me - and the way you enhanced the grain gives this a very old and period look to it
BUT...my favorite part is how you elongated the shot by the cropping to give the impression of the flatness of the land.... Message edited by author 2008-05-01 20:09:30. |
