that is home to me - and the way you enhanced the grain gives this a very old and period look to it

BUT...my favorite part is how you elongated the shot by the cropping to give the impression of the flatness of the land....

wonderful location - that is some warm sunset - i can just hear the conversation, the splashing of the waves, and the beer bottles popping - nice stuff

i think your processing really saved this image - these little p&s cameras have trouble with light sometimes, especially skies - i think your approach will be something i will try when i have a bright sky

this is actually a good perspective shot - that is some awesome bark, the canopy is not blown out and the twin trees add a nice twist to the typical 'up the tree' shot

i actually find this quite unsettling - but in a very good way - the lean of the world, the feathery texture of the trees and how the light is engulfing them, the straight on and in your face composition driving our eyes into the scene

So, how many times have people rearranged the letters in Maroons...

I like the processing and the un-processed comparison side by side. It is funny how much more punch you can get out of photoshop.

The sky looks just a bit muddy in the shot from a texture standpoint but the rest of the image is nice and vibrant and pretty sharp as well.

Post comment note: I am originally from Illinois and always love to see spots from home. We have really good friends that live in Elgin - a nice community.

very nice perspective and choice of foregound - i just wonder if your score is going to get hurt by the very subtle sepia tones - i think people are expecting more brownish tones
