Very strong composition on this with the branches and steeple. This would have been a good shot to bracket (maybe you did?) as it looks one stop underexposed to me. It doesn't look like it needs a lot of editing work aside from brightening up a bit.

Did you do this handheld? If so, you've got a pretty steady grip! It will be very interesting to see the colors pulled out in post edit, and the degree to which it can be sharpened and still look natural. The background is very appealing and suits the bird well.

Hi Christian, didn't realize you were also in this minimal editing PAD. I really like the perspective here and composition with the orange slice. I don't think you could have chosen a much more difficult situation to meter properly. :-) If the face were properly exposed, that warm area in the back would blow for sure. What about fill flash though? Did you by chance try any exposures using it, or do you have fill flash on your camera?

I have to admit I quite like the processing on this. I think without the extras it wouldn't have as much oooomph.

I think the effect is really cool, but there's nothing in particular in the center that says "wow". I'd love to see you try this on a few different subjects - it is a very creative idea!

I really like the grain in this. Gives a wonderful 'old world' feel.

One of my favorite places on earth; many fabulous memories in that spot. Interesting to see it in HDR. You certainly got great DOF here - can see the pier really well too.

He's so cute, isn't he? When I lived in DC, I'd watch him for hours. Great capture and title!
