Lunar Decayby skewsmeComment: Fabulous. Your work has been truly artistic lately. I hope you'll pursue a gallery show with your recent insect studies. |

The Bustard in the Morningby krnodilComment: The backlighting is lovely here, bustard or no :-) Poor guy, saddled with that name. A difficult cropping situation probably kept you from reaching a 6+ with this. |

Blueby quiet_observationComment: Weird and wonderful, Mary. One of the few graffiti photos I think translates into art in its own right. |

Pinkby NikonJebComment: So pretty, Jeb. Just a touch sharper in some of the petals and your score would have been much higher in my (not always educated) opinion. A touch of muted spotlight in the center would really help this one pop as well. Just my .02, mind you. It's a lovely photo as is. |

Chocolate G E R B E R A S by sherpetComment: Shez, I love this - totally underrated. Looks just like a box of petit fours candy. I just can't believe this one didn't break 6. |

Whiskersby JuliBocComment: Wow, I think you got a little robbed scorewise on this one, Julianne! I suspect you got hurt due to some grain in the photo. I've discovered that using a soft paintbrush at about 25% opacity to paint over grainy areas really does the trick - for example in the tiger's mouth, on his teeth, in his eyes, and on his nose. It gives a sleek, silky looks without looking fake. I also think you may have cropped just a little bit tightly on this one - I wish there was some negative space around his whiskers. |

When I Was A Boy...by HipychikComment: Not sure this fits "speed" but it is an excellent photo in its own right. There's a lot of emotive, despite being unable to view the boy's face. The processing is also very well done. |
