One Momentary Impression Upon Earth.by JopperTomComment: If we read the challenge description it specifies that we are looking for landscape shots. This unfortunately is not a landscape shot.
That aside? I really like the diagonal line of the water going through the shot. The subtle footprints in the sand are quit nice. The reflection of the sun kinda through off the exposure and made this a little bit dark (especially in the top left corner) but its not too bad. I like how the texture in the sand was captured along witht the "offerings of the sea". |

Man Made Grand Canyonby heavyjComment: This is a great image but you got really carried away in post processing. The colors, especially in the sky are far too saturated. This is quite oversharpened which is evident in the halos around the people. When you get right down to it you need to ask yourself: Is this anything like what I saw through the view finder?
I really like the uniqueness of this shot however. Most city shots are taken of skylines etc whereas this one takes the "inside" the city perspective. The curves of the buildings are esthetically pleasing and I like how you chose a portrait shot for this picture especially with the path in the middle to lead your eye through the image. Exposure is pretty good especially considering the lighting you had to work with. |

Powerby scmaxfieldComment: A little on the dark side. Setting a white point based on one of the clouds would have helped. I pasted into Paint Shop Pro quickly just to see what the difference would be and it looks beautiful. (Naturally I didn't save it but if you are interested in seeing it after the challenge is over let me know)
I do like the shadows on the hills. The powerlines/poles taking your eye into the shot is also really effective. I like the richness of the colours especially in the grass. |

High Landby Len ScapComment: It seems to be a theme throughout what I have seen in this challenge. A lot of the scenes are really hard to expose for properly with large bright areas and large dark areas. From your composition your focus is the trees and vegetation in the foreground, yet the proper exposure was given to the mountains in the background. Really tough call here because to properly expose the trees, the sky would get blown out pretty badly. The only solution that comes to mind is using a graduated ND filter (preferably) or perhaps a circular polarizer. A graduated ND filter would darken the sky while leaving the bottom nicely exposed. |

Florida Grasslandsby nickersh2oComment: I think this a little oversaturated as the clouds are starting to look a little blue and the grass looks somewhat strange. I'd also like to see what this would look like shot from a lower angle. |

Valley Viewby doctabrezComment: A tough scene to expose for. The bottom is a little dark and were this in advanced rules I'd recommend dodging a bit. |

Burnby stoleruComment: I'd use levels to make the trees more of a true black rather than the dark grey that they are. The top half of the scene also feels somewhat empty with nothing there to balance against the bottom half. |

Field of Dreamsby jsundinComment: I'd like to see a wider version of this. If zoom was used, zoom out and give us a feeling of how big this field really is. That shadow on the left is a little annoying as well. If recomposing without it was an option it would definitely help. |

13061' + 5'9"by mohhomadComment: Interesting shot and definitely a beautiful vantage point. I'm curious what this would look like if there was more contrast. I'm also curious what this would look like in colour. |
