This is centered, but it is the sort of shot that would be better with the subject off center. Also the focus seems a bit soft. I think this is a great subject and I hope to see more shots of it.

I gave this a 7, partly for the creativity of it. I would have liked it better if the bird was in a more natural position, looking like it really belonged in the tree. And for the composition, I think I would have liked the bird lower and more to the left -- with the beak leading my eye up into the tree, rather than with the tail leading my eye down and out of the picture.

You got an 8 from me. I really like the simplicity of this image. The colors are beautiful. Unlike one commenter, I like the fence. It softens the change between the black ground and the light sky. Excellent free study.

What's the matter with the voters (or what's the matter with me)? I gave this a 9. I don't care if it tells a story, or shows the environment, it a beautiful picture of a very interesting fish. I like the shadows, highlights, and colors. Phooey to the rest of them!

This is such a strong image. Very moving. The only thing that could be better, would be to have no pole in front of the house. I still think it is worth 10.
