Except for the blown sky and the washed out distant hills, I think this is fabulous. Perhaps cropping just a little off the top would improve the image.

Nice colors and composition. Good job on the pp. Only nitpick is the tires on by fence that could have been cloned out.

The foreground-left tree - really upsets this image to my eye. Whether a different framing was possible or not, those branches really intrude into your primary subject here. I get a strong feeling that I'd have tried simply to move about five yards to the right, and used all that hay as a foreground ...

There is something appealing about this image. I think it is the warm color of the horses against the starkness of the landscape.
