Bob, this is a beautiful picture. I love the color, light, and composition. I didn't think this was what was meant by the challenge subject after I read up on Wabi-Sabi. I would have scored it higher in a Free Study or landscape challenge.

Birds and Shadows

The shadows remind me, in a good way, of the veins in a heart. The house is glowing with life. It looks as if the gable is translucent and the light is coming from within. I really love the contrast in this image and the warm colors. And I don't mind what appears to be over-sharpening, because this image is so simple in its composition that the white outlines give it a clean crispness.

I like this if I don't try to understand what I'm seeing. At first it looked like a turtle, but then it didn't. Once I gave into it and just enjoyed the image for the light and dark and pleasing shapes, I decided I like it.
