Very interesting portrait. The girl seems troubled, shy, introspective. I don't know if she is, but that's what the image conveys to me, and that makes it interesting. I think the darkness adds to that feeling. So I disagree with the voters and commenters who don't like the contrast or exposure.

I'll never understand the "1" votes. I almost always have at least a couple. I've probably said so before, but there are darn few "bad" photos on this site.

I think this has excellent contrast, between the dark and light, and between the beautiful grooming and the decay. The eye is a startling contrast to the rest of the image, and you managed to capture quite a bit of detail in that white fur. Good going.
